“Three men and their single idea; ‘What art needs today is a sound (re)-location.’
“This collection of black and white images – some drawn, some photographed – is accompanied by the entire Biography, Bibliography, and Videography of General Idea at the time of its publication.” - Art Metropole
Out of print since 1978, this staple-bound, offset-printed artists’ book is the work of General Idea, a collective formed by the Canadian artists AA Bronson, Felix Partz, and Jorge Zontal. Active from 1967 to 1994, they worked in film, video, print, performance, and other media. The imagery in this publication, which range from photos of humans and objects to collages of magazine clippings, was soon developed into works included in the exhibition Menage à Trois at Galleria Lucio Amelio, Naples, which opened March 1, 1978.
