WORD ART/ART WORDS was developed by taking phrases from art reviews and articles written about art and presenting them out of context. The original meanings or functions of the phrases are subverted as a result of isolating them and eventually combining them to form a new statement. In addition, the phrases or word sequences are transformed into images.
To produce these visual transformations of words or word-images, each letter of the alphabet is associated with a specific point on the perimeter of a circle; lines are drawn to interconnect these letter-points according to the spelling of words. The configuration of letter-points is the same in every image; and every image is the direct result of the spelling of the word printed below it.
