Parkett continues to celebrate its 25th anniversary with special editions from Cerith Wyn Evans, Kelley Walker, Katarina Fritsch and Annette Kelm. For his edition, Evans presents a neon “equals” sign; in essays on the artist, Michael Archer relates Evans’ neon light pieces to Walter Benjamin’s comment on neon light, and Pablo Lafuente argues that the city of London was crucial in shaping Evans’ peripatetic working methods.
For his contribution, Kelley Walker made chocolate casts of heads sporting New York Yankees baseball caps. In the accompanying essays, Antek Walczak evaluates Walker’s fixation on the recycling logo, Glenn Ligon addresses Walker’s African-American imagery, and Johanna Burton recalls her first visit to Walker’s studio.
Katarina Fritsch produces a grouping of life-size monochromatic objects for her edition, with Jessica Morgan and Jean-Pierre Criqui writing on her work. Finally, the photography of Annette Kelm is discussed by Walead Beshty, Beatrix Ruf and Stephanie Kleefeld, with a signed C-print as her artist’s edition. With an insert by Allen Rupperberg.
