Cover Version is a zine by artist, writer, and scholar Antoine Lefebvre, published by La Bibliothèque Fantastique. La Bibliothèque Fantastique is a virtual artist book and zine publisher. All books are free and can be downloaded from the internet and printed anywhere. The intention of LBF is to create access to artist books and to question the marketability of artist publications. LBF uses theory and practices from minimalist art to explore the form and function of a book. The books have no ISBN, no color, no cost aside from printing, and no designed cover. In fact, all zine covers are taken from existing books and edited to include the name of the artist or zine author instead of the original author. Cover Versions is a zine of potential cover options for books which may encompass drawing, photography, essays, novels, or academic journal entries. The content of the zine is open to the artist, and may not relate to the cover.
Antoine Lefebvre, the author of Cover Version is the founder of La Bibliothèque Fantastique, 本 \hon\ books, and DYSFUNCTION Journal. He is a publisher, author, and video artist.
