“Kinmont likes to draw both the male and female form in these full-figure drawings from 2016. He draws the figure for two reasons: because he finds that figures are made of different types of interesting shapes; and because his drawings give him ideas for new paintings.
Rather than depicting the body as a single unit, Kinmont works in a linear manner. He draws the body from the head downward, or sometimes from the feet upward, to reach his desire arrangement of lines and forms.
Kinmont likes to focus most on developing the head in order to capture the model’s personality. And he appreciates drawing hands and feet because their forms are complicated and detailed.
All works were made in 2016, with conte crayon, on 18” x 24" newsprint paper.“ -Foreward
