MATTERS OF CONTEXT consists of a sequence of artist’s statements dealing with foundation and principles of a unique, process-based, visual/conceptual exploration of the signs of language. The structure of the book arises from an underlying word-image text, which is framed within the alternative theoretical context created by the statements. (This book was produced in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the publication of “Where Signs Resemble Thoughts” in the IMAGINING LANGUAGE Anthology (MIT Press—1998, Ed. Rasula & McCaffery).
*An earlier edition of 15 was printed (copies of that edition are in the Special Collections of museums and libraries including: Yale, UCLA, and the Brooklyn Museum).
