View is the first patch produced from Jeffrey Cheung’s ongoing series of playful and stylized illustrations of nude bodies. Depicting a single figure bent backwards and smiling at the viewer, View is a continued celebration of the non-normative genderqueer body. Jeffrey Cheung is a Bay Area-based artist who organizes skateboarding meet-ups for QTPOC youth who seek a supportive community. Unity Press is associated with Unity Queer Skateboarding, a project that “is here to represent and support queer skaters.“
Jeffrey Cheung is an Oakland based artist known for his playful and accessible style featuring nude and contorted queer figures, which serve as the subject matter for paintings, prints, collages, drawings, and murals. Cheung attended University of California, Santa Cruz, and has since shown work extensively in the Bay Area and in New York City, Los Angeles, and Paris. Cheung launched Unity Skateboarding, a skateboarding brand and collective, as a way to support queer skaters of color. Unity’s publishing imprint, Unity Press, produces zines and provides free printing services to teens and QPOC artists.
