Willhelmtown is a zine by Bernhard Willhelm published by innen in Zürich, Switzerland. Willhelmtown is a staple bound, full color zine of photographs and drawings published on the occasion of Printed Matter’s LA Art Book Fair at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA in April 2019. Berhnard Willhelm is a German fashion designer, known for his clothing’s craftsmanship, eclecticism, and irony. Willhelm rose to international recognition after studying at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and assisting Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood. The drawings and photographs in Willhelmtown, including work by Carsten Fock and Stefan Meier, are inspirations for his 2019/2020 collection. The images range from gory monster sculptures to potted plants to basketballs on stools in Willhelm’s studio.
