JAC is the first undergraduate journal in print devoted to art criticism. Founded in New York at Barnard College during the fall of 2015, the journal is published annually to include critical writing and art centered around a contemporary theme.
“Conversion,” the eighth annual edition of JAC, explores processes of transmutation and rapture in the changing world of contemporary art and criticism. The writers and artists featured in this issue were chosen with the hope of prompting new reflections on the idea of conversion. Questions of being and becoming, presence and absence frame their collective inquiry into visual representations of conversion. -Publisher
