THE LAND FOR THE PEOPLE was a rallying cry of the Irish National Land League during the Land Wars of the late 19th and early 20th century, in response to abusive landlordism, land hoarding, and displacement of tenants. Strategies of resistance in this period included preventing evictions, undertaking boycotts, property damage, as well as official attempts at political reform.
