Pictures & Words is a joint production by Rupert Goldsworthy & Mark Stewart.
Goldsworthy is primarily known as an artist-writer & sometimes gallerist based in Berlin, London, and New York City. Mark Stewart (1960-2023) was pioneer of post-punk and industrial music (The Pop Group, Nine Inch Nails, Tricky, Massive Attack, Chicks on Speed, ADULT,Primal Scream).
In 2011, Stewart collaborated with Goldsworthy, forming The New Banalists Orchestra, a collective featuring a host of artists and associates, including John Sinclair (poet), Youth (musician), David Tibet, Penny Rimbaud & Eve Libertine. Their project-product, entitled Mammon, was released in 2011.
With Pictures & Words (published by STH editions) the duo trade imagery and enigmatic phrases and quotes a la stream-of-consciousness… day and night, dark and light, in black and white (pages). -Publisher
