Join us for a reception on occasion of our current exhibition From the Margins: The Making of Art-Rite. Founding editor Walter Robinson will give a short monologue on the magazine, followed by a brief recollection from writer and contributing editor Alan Moore.

From the Margins explores the legendary underground arts magazine Art-Rite, which published nineteen issues between 1973-1978 from a loft in SoHo. The show considers how the journal brought a homespun aesthetic to a new generation of arts writing, tracing the collaborative ethos and editorial decision-making of the magazine’s early years through various production materials, documentary photographs, ephemera, and original artwork drawn from the archive of Edit DeAk.
