Join us for the launch of Priscilla by artist and researcher Sasha Fishman. Priscilla contains essays, photographs and debris from Fishman’s experience caring for a hagfish, outlining how clear materiality led her to these deep sea creatures, and the ethical dilemmas that arose as she developed a relationship with them. Published by 9vtbackslash5.

Fishman will be joined in conversation by Andrew Woolbright, editor at large at The Brooklyn Rail. Fishman will also showcase material experiments from her studio and discuss how these materials, her experience with marine organisms, and Priscilla relate to the sculptures in her current solo show, Implosion Paradigm Incoming, on view at Below Grand until October 21st.
