Paris Photo LA - New Jason Evans Publication and Fundraising Edition

April 25 - 27, 2014

Printed Matter is excited to be participating in Paris Photo Los Angeles at the Paramount Pictures Studios, where we will present a selection of contemporary artists’ books with a focus on photography. We will debut a new Printed Matter publication and fundraising edition by photographer Jason Evans. Join Evans for a signing this Saturday, 5 PM, at the Printed Matter booth (New York Backlot, Stand J3).

In Pictures for looking at & equivalents Evans’ intricate still lives are paired with diagonally divided rectangles which echo his colourful installation style, extending that context to the page. With no interpretive text, the work he says “asks for just a keen pair of eyes happy to wander and wonder.” The publication is offset-printed and staple bound in an edition of 500. Designed by Jason Evans & Tom Watt. It retails for $15 and is available here.

In addition to the publication, three fundraising prints are available from Evans, featuring new ‘equivalents’ taken from Pictures for looking at series. Printed on 11" x 14" metallic paper and is available in an edition of 20. Works are sold individually and retail for $150. View the three prints here.

Jason Evans is a Welsh Born photographer. He works in a variety of context embracing the editorial system, the music industry, education and the gallery system. He maintains the popular website The Daily Nice, where he posts one image a day of something that made him happy.

Evans will also be the featured artist at the monthly LA art event Stupid Pills taking place Friday, April 25 - more info here.
