Set in Southern California, Tourmaline is the story of two people who can’t afford a place to live, so they build a secret shelter on the roof of the office building where they work. The writing and drawings by Stroup present an interlocking set of images composed - like a poem or painting - of recurring elements. Tourmaline describes the resilience of two people who are confronted with reduced circumstances and limited options. Reading will take place at 7PM.
This is Derek Stroup’s sixth book.
