Printed Matter presents the thirteenth annual NY Art Book Fair, from September 21 – 23, 2018, at MoMA PS1, Long Island City, Queens. The preview will be held on the evening of Thursday, September 20.

Printed Matter’s NY Art Book Fair (NYABF) is the leading international gathering for the distribution of artists’ books, celebrating the full breadth of the art publishing community. Free and open to the public, the event draws more than 35,000 individuals including book lovers, collectors, artists, and art world professionals each year. In 2018, the NYABF will host 365 exhibitors from around the world featuring a wide variety of works – from zines and artists’ books to antiquarian books and contemporary art editions. The NYABF offers countless opportunities to attend free programs including artist-led discussions, performances, interactive workshops, and curated exhibitions.

Join us on Thursday, September 20 from 6–9 pm, at MoMA PS1 for the opening night preview. Preview tickets, include a limited edition work by artist Ryan Gander. The evening will feature special live performances by DJ Monchan, Roe Enney, and Odwalla1221, presented by Blank Forms.

The Fair weekend will once again feature a full calendar of free educational programming. The Classroom, an ongoing series of events, serves as an informal space for talks, panel discussions, readings, performances and other programs. The Contemporary Artists’ Book Conference (CABC), organized by a national group of art library professionals, will present two full days of conversation at Book Culture (26-09 Jackson Ave), inviting artists, scholars and leading figures to address a range of issues across publishing and art-book culture.

The Shannon Michael Cane Award, in memory of Curator of Fairs Shannon Michael Cane, will be given to four emerging artists/publishers exhibiting for the first time. Recipients will receive a complimentary Fair table and a stipend to help cover related expenses.
