Please join us for a book launch of The Number of Inches Between Them, a new publication dedicated to a single work by Gordon Hall. Hall’s sculpture and performance The Number of Inches Between Them is a cast concrete replica of a found bench that was then used as the site for a movement piece of an intergenerational group of performers. This catalog documents and reflects on the exhibition’s first iteration in midcoast Maine in the summer of 2017 and then its revision and re-presentation at the MIT List Visual Arts Center in 2018. The book features writing by Alhena Katsof, Elizabeth Lamb, Lydia Adler Okrent, Elizabeth Atterbury, Meghan Brady, and Yuri Stone and a conversation between Gordon Hall and David J. Getsy.

The release event will include readings by the authors and the artist.
