Artfan: Audience as Artist, is a magazine published by artists Geoff Lowe and Jacqueline Riva, who have been working together as A Constructed World since 1993 when they founded Artfan Magazine. This special issue of the magazine is the product of their residency at the Serpentine Gallery, London, during the Summer of 2002.
During their residency A Constructed World organized regular public gallery discussions within which seventeen speakers conducted a five-day long workshop that brought together eleven individuals aged between seventeen and seventy-four. Their workshops culminated in an exhibition presented in the Sackler Centre of Education at the Serpentine. Artfan: Audience as Artist includes transcripts of the gallery discussions, documentation from the workshop, and specially commissioned artists’ pages and texts.
