This limited edition tote bag borrows its image from Bruno Munari’s 1959 publication Le forchette di Munari, which uses emoting forks to illustrate Italian hand gestures. Bruno Munari (1907-1998) is known equally for his contributions to the fields of visual and applied arts. Throughout his career, Munari acted as a consultant, art director, and graphic designer for many prestigious Italian Magazines and publishing houses, and produced objects for Italian design companies like Danese. Munari lived through and participated in the 20th Century movements of Futurism and Concrete Art. Throughout and after these periods he produced children’s books, artists’ books, and written books that explored the concepts that fascinated him. His books range from hand pasted, sewn and bound works of art to his iconic text Design as Art, first published in 1971. Edizioni Corraini continues to re-publish his books for contemporary appreciation.
