In this collaboration between Abraham Soriano and Grita Sangre, a manual of rural medicine from the 1970s has been “updated” to reflect, and maintain function, within contemporary society, using the absurd and classist tone of its original content as inspiration.
In this Pepto-Bismol pink, Spanish-language publication, photographs, illustrations, and text, both handwritten and typed, are collaged into a vision reflective of the Jonas Mekas quotation printed on the envelope in which the publication is packaged: “En una sociedad bastarda, estandarizada, conformista y enferma, la perversión es una fuerza de liberación.” (“In a bastard, standardized, conformist and sick society, perversion is a force of liberation.”)
