The publication Fontanel, includes photographs by Constantin Thun taken in the artist’s apartment between 2016 and 2021. As embedded in Thun’s artistic practice of creating frameworks, challenging them, and drawing from them, his apartment is also considered such a framework and serves as a resource for the creation of new works. The identity of the resulting works is the sum of the information collected and repeatedly edited from the living spaces — whether in the form of notes made, books read, a quick snack, observations of one’s surroundings. Like the spaces themselves, the illustrated book with its snapshots also functions as an archive of these ephemeral conditions.

Fontanel, sees itself as a work in its own right, on par with other works by Thun and consists of a publication, a postcard, a compliment card and the colophon in an archival cardboard box in an edition of 200.
