Barbara Bloom (b. 1951 in Los Angeles) is a Conceptual artist best known for her installation work and her affiliation with the Pictures Generation, an infamous exhibition staged at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which also included Richard Prince, Louis Lawler, and Barbara Kruger. Bloom’s work is focused on the dialectical relationship between multiple images. Bloom’s work has been the subject of numerous exhibitions, including at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, The Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, The and Serpentine Gallery in London, among many others.
