This collection of works showcases the individual styles and conceptual ponderings of several international artists, outfitted to suit a risograph publication roughly centered on the idea of experimentation/collaboration with the printing press itself. Published in correspondence with Annette Knol’s thesis at Pratt Institute and described in her own words: “Is it even possible to collaborate with a machine or object? This publication wants to extend this notion. While a dialogue with the machine may stagnate, one with people is reciprocal, fluid, and alive at best. It has made me so happy to receive the varied responses, each beautiful in their own right.”
Auto Body Emotives is published through Publishing Puppies, a press whose headquarters is in Berlin, Germany but had access to the risograph printing facilities at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. The book was published in a medium, spiral-bound format with rose, off-white and lilac-colored paper.
