This zine, bound with orange thread, is a sequel to Milena Bassen’s Give and Take. Bassen’s drawings resemble technical drawings, blueprints, or Ikea instructions. We see very long fences and dozens of bookshelves. Bassen says that this book “deals with structures of society, our relationships and behavior.”
There’s a short text on the back cover: “My servant is wearing his key on a necklace. While he is painting my fence, I go to his room and sit on his cold foam mattress, it’s softer than mine. When I look out of the window I can see my neighbour’s servant cutting the box hedge around the house. I prefer less green borders. Following an old habit, we meet on rainy Sundays and have a martini. We let the servants present out newest acquirements on a silver platter. I know mine are better than his.”
